AARP Safe Driver Program for Seniors

Colfax United Methodist Church, 59 Church Street, Colfax, will be hosting two DMV approved Mature Driver Improvement courses designed for drivers 50 and older. The first is a 4-hour Refresher Course Thurs, Nov 15, 10 am – 2:30 pm for those who have taken the course within the past 3 years. Participants will learn defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws, rules of the road, how to compensate for age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time, and more. For those who have never taken the course, or have taken the course more than 3 years ago,  a more intensive 8-hour, 2 day course will be offered Tues and Wed, Jan 8 and 9, 2019, 1 – 5:30 pm. Participants should bring glasses, pen, and beverage, (brown bag lunch for the shorter course); coffee, tea, water and light snacks will be provided. Course is $15 for AARP members, $20 for non-members.

The Mature Driver Improvement Course Certificate received at the end of the course may allow participants to receive a discount on their insurance. Call Beth Murphy (530-637-4893) to sign-up or for more information.
